Lyndy Butler is an award winning, independent singer-songwriter and music education adventurer from Southern Utah. Her favorite shining star moments include performing as a finalist in the Rocky Mountain Folks Festival Songwriter showcase, being a two-time New Folk Songwriting Finalist, a Gold Medal recipient from Parents Choice Awards, and winning the Grand Prize in the Children’s Category from the John Lennon Songwriting Competition. Lyndy has an ability to connect to audiences of kids or “kids at heart” and finds joy in encouraging others to share their own unique journey through song. This year she released her fourth independent album “Buffalo Skater” and is thrilled to be back in Texas.

The award-winning Al Johnson Performing Songwriter Contest is accepting 300 entries beginning January 1, 2020. The submissions will be narrowed to 10 Finalists who will then compete for the Grand Prize, Second Place or the Michael Terry People’s Choice Award. The deadline to enter is March 1 and all finalists perform live on stage at the Wildflower! Arts & Music Festival in Richardson that draws a crowd of 65,000 attendees each year.
