James Lee Baker

Canceled Due to Delayed Opening

CityLine Stage

A born and raised, Texas based troubadour, James Lee Baker is rising in the Folk and Americana scenes as an artist with a clear and soaring voice, eloquent and tasteful fingerstyle guitar playing, and a knack for lyrical detail with songs steeped in stories of the heartland. As Bill Revill (WESU in Middletown, CT) put it, James’ songs “…pay attention to the often unnoticed details that make up a story. Well written songs with tight yet spare arrangements and vocals,

this is someone going places.”

In 2017, James’ songs appeared on several music charts including the FolkDJ Radio Charts and The Roots Music Report. His single “Two Cageless Birds” went on to win the John O’Hara Singer/Songwriter Performance Grant and the tune “Disappear for the Weekend” was selected for the Texas Country Music Association’s “Best Texas Country Music Picks of 2018”. James has also shared the stage with several renowned Folk artists like Ellis Paul and Vance Gilbert.
