Since this program was introduced at the 2003 Wildflower! Arts & Music Festival, it has won both state and international awards for “Best New Fund-Raising Program.” Festival sponsors, local artists, celebrities, and sports figures are invited to enter a decorated guitar. Guitar entries, either electric or acoustic, can be transformed, painted, tiled, airbrushed or gilded in gold- whatever way you wish to express yourself, the music or maybe Wildflower!. The guitars are then put on display in the Eisemann Center and sold in a silent auction for the duration of the Festival. Proceeds from the auction benefit the NETWORK of Community Ministries and the fine art programs in the secondary level of the R.I.S.D.
