With a notorious musical career that spans decades, The Guess Who is a rock band of all genres. Originating in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada, in 1966, The Guess Who would grow from their hometown of Winnipeg to Saskatchewan where they constantly crossed paths with artists such as Joni Mitchell and Neil Young. While the band made continuous strives in Canada, releasing top 40 hits such as “Clock on the Wall” and “His Girl,” it wasn’t until they became the house band for the CBC radio show, “The Swingers,” and the CBC television show, “Let’s Go,” in 1967 that they were able to reach a larger Canadian crowd, giving them the exposure they really needed.
With works for Coca-Cola under their belt and an LP called “A Wild Pair,” The Guess Who was setting the stage for international stardom. In 1969, The Guess Who released the album “Wheatfield Soul” along with the ballad “These Eyes,” which became the group’s first top 10 U.S. hit. It sold over a million copies and was awarded the gold disc by the Recording Industry Association of America. Read More

Behind the mural is a leather goods designer for Bioworld Merchandising who happens to moonlight as a masterful artist every May. Charles Claudet III has been painting the murals since 2007 and says, “This is something that I look forward to every year.”

1. First instrument he learned to play was his grandmother’s banjolele, described as ukulele shaped like a banjo. He was seven years old when he taught himself and later recounts the memory in “Vaudeville Nanna and the Banjolele.”
2. By the age of 12 he formed a band called “The Little Ravens.”
3. His fifth solo album “Frampton Comes Alive!” was recorded in 1975, a double album priced at $7.98, and sold more than 17 million copies worldwide. It is celebrating it’s 40th Anniversary and available on iTunes for $10.99 including all 14 songs.
The Wildflower! Arts & Music Festival was honored to have Denny Dent perform in 1997. With three brushes in each hand Denny painted one of his legendary masterpieces, an ode to John Lennon. In the time it took to play a few music selections Denny has completed the “passionate dance on canvas.”
Denny lived to become a world renowned “rock and roll painter” but tragically passed away in 2004. His “two-fisted art attack” depicting one of rock’s most iconic musicians remains part of the Wildflower! Arts & Music Festival collectibles. Denny’s painting is on display in the Eisemann Center during May 15-17, 2015 and truly a work of art that every Wildflower! fan should experience up close.
Photographs are permitted and encouraged so that Denny Dent’s legacy continues to be shared within the art and music communities. www.wildflowerfestival.com
