PROFESSOR RAFE & THE FABLES

Professor Rafe & the Fables is an indie-funk band from Austin, Texas. The band has made television appearances on KVUE and was recognized by the Austin Chronicle as one of the Best Under 18 Bands in Austin.  This foursome serves out a vibrant mix of bluesy jams, funky pop tunes and up-tempo Indie Rock covers.  Formed in early 2017, the group consists of siblings Avery Johnson (Guitar/Vocals) and Will Johnson (Vocals/Keys/Guitar), Jimmy Mercado on Drums, and the Professor (Rafe Marie) on Bass.

Sofia Mora and Kelly Condy met in grade school and always dreamed of being in a band. They joined School of Rock Plano to gain some experience on stage. This was a pivotal point on their music journey. There, they met Alex Gore, and played countless shows. The most memorable being the main stage at House of Blues, Curtain Club, Three Links, TUPPS Brewery, RBC, and many, many more. The three were great friends and naturally, ALL THERE IS was born.

Coma Motel is the product of Sam Wood, Olivia Hughes and their desire to play faster and louder than their acoustic duo act, Sam & Olivia. With Wolfgang Hunter on lead guitar, Jacob Meazle on bass and Z Alsup on drums… mission accomplished.  Despite being a newly formed high school band, the members of Coma Motel have been making music together in different combinations for years. You may have seen them recently when they performed live on stage at Guitars & Growlers in Richardson.

Reckless Kelly is a band with an apt name, an outlaw spirit and the musical prowess to back it all up.  Taking their name from legendary Australian highwayman, Ned Kelly, this Austin-based band has generations of musical talent and expertise influencing their truly unique sound.

Born from the dreams of two brothers, Reckless Kelly began with Cody and Willy Braun.  Children of performers themselves, the Braun boys started out touring the country as part of their father’s band, Muzzie Braun and the Boys. They performed in a variety of places, eventually making their way onto The Tonight Show twice. Working alongside their father, the boys learned what it would take to create and maintain their professional careers – integrity, persistence and hard work coupled with hardships, struggles and many lessons learned. The true definition of the American Dream.

JOHN FORD COLEY

Dallas-born native, John Ford Coley, brings his writing and singing expertise to the Wildflower! Arts & Music Festival on Saturday, May 19, 2018 at 7:15 p.m. on the UnitedHealthcare Singer Songwriter Stage in the Eisemann Center. Best known as half of the Grammy-nominated duo, England Dan and John Ford Coley, John is a singing legend.

Listening to the Grand Old Opry and early versions of rock and roll, Coley grew up with a love of music. After high school, Coley and schoolmate Dan Seals joined what would eventually become Southwest F.O.B. and toured the Texas music scene. Their hit single “The Smell of Incense” reached number 43 on the music charts back in 1969. While in the band, Coley and Seals eventually formed their own, England Dan and John Ford Coley. Their big break came in 1972 with “Simone,” an international hit in Japan and France. The two had four Top 10 Hits and two Top 20 Hits and released three albums before disbanding in 1980.

GOO GOO DOLLS HEADLINING 26TH WILDFLOWER! ARTS & MUSIC FESTIVAL

Goo Goo Dolls will headline the 26th Wildflower! Arts & Music Festival, Saturday, May 19, 2018 on the Methodist Richardson Amphitheater Stage. Goo Goo Dolls were the soundtrack of the late 1990’s, with their rock ballads on steady radio repeat.  Alt rock song “Name” released in 1995 and reached #5 on the Billboard Hot 100 and Goo Goo Dolls successfully rocketed into stardom with “Iris.” Written for the City of Angels soundtrack, and later released on the 1998 album Dizzy Up The Girl, “Iris” was #1 on the Billboard’s Pop Chart for four weeks and also nominated for two Grammy Awards.

John Rzeznik, the group’s lead vocalist and guitarist, and Robby Takac on bass, have been creating music together for over two decades and released a greatest hit album in 2007, which included “Slide,” “Broadway,” and “Better Days.”  Read More
